Dear Friend,
Thank you for visiting
the website for Central Schwenkfelder Church. We hope that you will soon visit
our doors at 2111 S. Valley Forge Road in Worcester, Pennsylvania.
So what
is a Schwenkfelder? A sign positioned on our church grounds describes our congregation
in three ways: Protestant, Evangelical and Ecumenical. By Protestant, we affirm
that salvation is by grace through faith in Christ and that the Bible is our directive
authority for our faith and life. By Evangelical, we believe that God has good
news in Jesus Christ for fallen man. By Ecumenical, we seek to unite Christians
in the essentials.
As Schwenkfelders were called since their days in Silesia,
we are "Confessors of the Glory of Christ." Caspar Schwenckfeld Von
Ossig wrote, "The aim and object of our ministry is to praise Christ, the
ruling King of grace, to bear witness to Him and to His benefits by Scriptural
testimony and through Him to point to God in all matters pertaining to religion
we
do not presume anything other than that we are witnesses of Christ, invite
everyone to Him, preaching Christ and His boundless mercies and endeavor to make
Christ really known." To use a common phrase in our circles, "It's all
about Christ."
We warmly invite you to attend one of our worship services
on Sunday mornings. To get a better taste of church life, we also encourage you
to join a Sunday School class or a small group. If you enjoy music, please consider
joining one of our many choral or instrumental groups. If you have questions,
please call the church office. We would be delighted to discuss with you any facet
of the Christian life. Our goal is that you would meet Jesus Christ for the first
time, or be strengthened in your faith in Him.
Jesus defined His ministry
in Luke 19:10 "For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which
was lost." We hope that by getting involved in congregational life, you will
discover the wonderful plan He has for you.
Because of Him,
Rev.
