June 13th is Children's Day during the
Sunday School hour. We hope you all take the opportunity to join us
in the Fellowship Hall at 9:00 a.m. for an hour of intergenerational
activity and fun as we learn more about God and one another!
Children had an important place in Jesus'
heart. Matthew, Mark and Luke all recall
the time in Jesus' ministry when little children were brought to Jesus
so He could bless
them. The disciples thought this was a waste of time for Jesus, but
Jesus said this,
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them for
the kingdom of Heaven
belongs to such as these." (Matthew 19: 13-14, Mark 10: 13-16,
Luke 18: 18-30)
Children in Jesus' time weren't valued - but Jesus pointed out that
they should
be valued and loved.
Children are mentioned several times in the Bible. As a matter of fact,
we are called
children of God. As we celebrate children this month, take some time
to read what
the Bible says about them and us.
