One of the wonderful "perks" of our Christian faith is abiding with our Heavenly Father, being in his presence - learning from Him and enjoying Him. Here are some Bible verses which reflect the peace and joy which can come from abiding in the Lord. As we continue on our journey through Lent to Easter, may they be a source of encouragement and support for you.

Those That Abide in Jesus Christ:
John 15:1-8 "I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away; and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

2 John 9 "Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in th doctrine of Christ, hath both the Father and the Son."

Who Abides Forever:
Psalm 61:1-4 "Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah."

Psalm 125:1 "They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever."

1 John 2:17 "And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever."

Who Shall Abide Under the Shadow of the Almighty:
Psalm 61:1-4 (reference above)
Psalm 91:1 "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."
